Antonio Morales

co founder

Antonio Morales Cruz, originally from the Luis Llorens Torres public housing project in San Juan, Puerto Rico, began his artistic journey at the age of 14 when he founded the “Taller de Teatro Viviendo el Arte” in his own community. He directed the workshop for 13 years, dedicating his youth to nurturing talent within his neighborhood. He pursued his early studies at the José Julián Acosta School of Theater in Old San Juan and later attended the Humanities Department at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus. He served as a theater teacher at Saint John’s School in Condado, PR, for six years. In 2010, he founded the San Juan Drama Company, training hundreds of young people, many of whom have gone on to have successful careers in the entertainment industry.

In 2013, he created his own non-profit organization, Teatro Por Amor, Inc., dedicated to promoting the arts among underprivileged youth, using theater as a tool for social transformation. That same year, 2013, he released his first film, Por Amor en el Caserío, as a screenwriter and executive producer. Produced by CineCoop, this was the first Puerto Rican stage play adapted into a film, following over 500 theatrical performances featuring actors from public housing communities. The film stayed in Puerto Rican theaters for over four months and was later featured on HBO Latino for a year and a half.

In 2018, he premiered his first Puerto Rican youth series, No Me Compares, where he excelled as an actor, screenwriter, and executive producer, partnering with Univision Puerto Rico. The series, directed by his collaborator Jorge Adrian Espíndola, ran for one season.

In 2020, he was appointed as the Executive Director of the Department of Arts and Culture for the Municipality of San Juan by Mayor Miguel Romero (part of the mayor’s cabinet). He led over 30 cultural initiatives, including Teatro en 15, Escuadrón del Arte, and Paseo de la Música, positively impacting the San Juan community. In 2022, he premiered his second film, Todo Por Amor, as a screenwriter and executive producer, which received multiple awards at international film festivals.

In 2024, he moved to Mexico City, where he successfully completed an intensive television production course at Televisa under the guidance of producer Alexis Núñez, and graduated from the CEA (Centro de Educación Artística Eugenio Cobo) at Televisa, specializing in Television Hosting.

Currently, he resides in Miami, where he continues to advance philanthropic and innovative projects, including his third film to be shot in Mexico, and the creation of Esencia, a talent agency that celebrates diversity and authenticity. His career in theater, film, and television reflects his commitment to the development of Hispanic talent on a global scale, bridging opportunities from Puerto Rico to the United States and Mexico.
